New Propeller - 1 and 2

During our stop in Gibraltar, we were told that one of the propeller blades and would attempt to change it.  The first attempt did not succeed so our route was altered to bypass Lisbon and take us back to Cadiz to drydock.

The ship enters the harbour and is positioned with the stern facing into the drydock - all maneuvering done by tugboats and ropes.  Once the ship is in the drydock the outer doors facing the harbour are closed.

Divers then go under the ship to determine if it is resting on the concrete blocks positioned on the base of the drydock.  Once the ship is in the proper position, the water is pumped out to expose the bottom of the ship and the propellers can then be changed.

It's a fascinating procedure but we were blocked from most of it.  Whatever I could photograph is below.
