SAN FRANCISCO - 06/07 February 2023

We sailed in early in the morning, before down, under the Golden Gate Bridge.

The ship was positioned against the pier by the use of ropes.

I decided to take a hop-on, hop-off bus.  For $50, I could ride for both of the days.  We boarded a white, comfortable bus and drove about 4 minutes.  Then, we had to transfer to a ratty, dirty bus (see photos).

Upstairs was full before the rest of us boarded, so I had to sit downstairs - no view, except for the plastic container marked "Tips" - there was rainwater (some clear liquid) in the bottom of the container so any money would be wet and slimy.

For the tips

The guide screeched, sang and talked non-stop into a very loud microphone.  Admittedly, she did have problems with two of the German tourist who insisted on standing up while the bus was moving and one who tried to touch the overhead tram lines!!  But, it did not make up for the trash in the bus.

I got off at Union Square and went into Saks 5th Avenue for the first time in more than 60 years.  I saw only 3 other shoppers on the 2 floors I visited and a lot of bored sales personnel, all staring at their phones.
