South Africa
As I may have mentioned several times,
South Africa is not my favourite stop on this route. The current ANC
leadership with the clown president and the very dangerous “youth”
offshoot have done everything possible to disgrace the legacy of
Nelson Mandela and to divert the path towards progress for all.
Previously this stop was one
overnight. This time it was 2 overnights.
The day after Namibia was a sea day and
we both awoke with colds. Fortunately we had not missed the desert
trip. It was worse when we landed at Cape Town and my general apathy
towards SA was increased by a headache and runny nose. There were a
few things on the shopping list (including paper towels and a black
skirt) so we took the shuttle from the ship to the Victoria and
Albert Waterfront Shopping Center. I went to QUEEN'S PARK and got a
beaded top and a lovely summer dress. We found Pick and Pay and got
some cold remedies and potato chips.as well as paper towels.

No, I don't understand it either.

Rusks seem to be twice-baked bread, like Zweiback.
Per stayed in bed for much of the
afternoon and got better faster than we both expected which meant
that we could go to the aquarium the following day.
It was good walking weather much of the
time but could occasionally get very hot very quickly.
